Hello,
As you might be aware, due to its recent commercial popularity, Ashwagandha is available in many different forms and dosages in the market by various pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies under different brand names. It is important to use Ashwagandha as per prescribed dosage based on Ayurvedic Texts and findings. Some of these products are highly concentrated extracts and some are isolated Withanolides, which are not produced and prescribed according to Ayurveda. Such products in the market might have prompted the authorities to question the safety of Ashwagandha.

Some good Ayurveda companies have been manufacturing and supplying many polyherbal products containing Ashwagandha root powder since last 40 years around the world and to Europe. These products are produced by using best quality herbs, as per strict Ayurvedic methods and according to European and Global quality standards.

According to Ayurveda, Ashwagandha is classified as a Rasayana. A Rasayana is used for well being and can be used for long term and is a part of daily diet. These herbs have positive effects on the mind and body and help maintain general good health.

They have been in the European market since about 40 years and have been in use by Ayurveda lovers. Ashwagandha is an important herb for us and the subject of Ayurveda in general and is used in many products since ages. The proposed step by the EU can severely restrict the usage of a critical herb in Ayurveda for the benefit of the consumers in the EU. We do not agree with this proposed ban. Rather the emphasis should be on correct dosage.
