I do not think that banning flavored vapes will solve the issue of its popularity. Rather a black market will emerge with counterfeit products which will in turn be more dangerous.

I had been a smoker for 20 years, I successfully quit cigarettes and now vape as needed.

Keep in mind this is nothing more than the tobacco companies lobbying for leverage.

If flavored vapes become illegal, cigarettes should become illegal too.
