As a knowledge migrant living in the Netherlands, as a family of 4, I had done an immense research & planning before choosing Netherlands amongst all other countries in Europe. I was fortunate enough to be in a situation that I could make this chose independently.

Extending the naturalization period beyond 5 years for existing migrants is unfair because this highly undermines the efforts & the wise intensions of the legal migrants.

Instead, I'd urge the government to tackle illegal migration & asylum efficiently and if extending the naturalization is the last resort then this must be applicable to future legal migrants. This would enable such future migrants to consider the new policy in their decision before deciding to move to the Netherlands.
