As a high-income, highly skilled migrant (HSM) in the Netherlands, I can say with confidence that I would never have decided to move to the Netherlands if the naturalisation process had been 10 years. Now I have created a life in the Netherlands and feel connected and want to participate more actively in my local community.

I want the very best for the Netherlands, as my country of choice. Changing the naturalisation period from 5 to 10 years will not affect me much at this point. But it is a very bad decision when thinking about the future of our country. It will make the Netherlands even less attractive to capable immigrants who have high skills and are required for a successful society long-term.
