I am not supporting such changes, especially without grand-fathering period. Moreover, even if qualification preriod for citizenship is extended to 10 years, it is wise to keep right to receive permanent residence after 5 years. After 5 years working and developing Dutch economy, paying taxes, not having issues with law - it's safe and beneficial for NL to give a right for permanent residence in NL for such person.

Extending permanent residence/citizenship period by 5 years, with immediate impact on people who are already working in the NL (especially 4+ years) can negatively impact NL economy as many of those people can choose to leave the country and look for more favorable conditions abroad.
