Dear All,

I would like to formally express my objection to the proposed extension of the naturalisation term from 5 to 10 years.

As a highly skilled migrant who has been living and working in the Netherlands for 4 years, I have built my career and life here with the expectation that I could apply for Dutch citizenship after 5 years of lawful residence. Extending this to 10 years would significantly delay my integration, limit my legal security, and undermine the trust of professionals who contribute to the Dutch economy under the current rules.

I kindly ask you to reconsider this proposal, or at least ensure that individuals already residing in the Netherlands under existing regulations are not retroactively affected.
