Extending the naturalization period from 5 to 10 years is unfair. For people who have lived, worked, paid taxes, and contributed to society in this country for years, this is a major step backward.

Five years is long enough to integrate.
Extending it to ten years does not promote integration but actually erodes the sense of belonging. True integration is not achieved by making people wait, but by strengthening language, education, and opportunities for participation.

Everyone who lives here deserves a fair and accessible path to Dutch citizenship.
