We respectfully ask the Dutch government to reconsider the proposed extension of the naturalization period. Families like ours have fully committed to this country. We contribute through work, taxes, and long-term residence. Most importantly, our children grow up Dutch in every way but on paper. My six-year-old son identifies only with the Netherlands, the country he loves and calls home. Extending the term to ten years risks alienating those who have already proven their loyalty and dedication to this nation.
