Good day. The implementation of this extension will limit the number of highly skilled migrants from fully integrating into the Netherlands, which will result in the opposite of what the proposal is trying to achieve. These highly skilled migrants will come for shorter periods and leave as there is no interest in living in a country that takes 10 years to be recognized as a permanent resident or citizen. They may move to countries where the time frame is shorter to integrate, and the Netherlands will have lost the intellectual property these highly skilled migrants bring to the country and its economy. To preserve the volume of skills that the country needs to thrive, the extension should not be allowed.
