I am a researcher who came to the Netherlands as a student, i stayed and worked on many current ongoing problems in the Netherlands, I come from a Non-EU nationality and I plan to pursue a scientific career. This move to extend naturalization period will hurt both my chances to stay and work here. It will also deprive the scientific expertise in my field which is very prevalent for the Dutch public. If this law passes, I and lots more scientists will think twice before coming to the Netherlands for their research grants and stays. I stand against this change, and hope that the government can recognize this policy will do more damage than good.
