I have a job and a good life in the Netherlands, been here for two years. I do not really want a Dutch passport, as that will prohibit me from voting for a good government my own country. However, some practical problem arose: my partner (of 9 years and fiancé since 1 year) is lives in another EU country. Traveling to see each other, restrictions of living in a different EU country while working in the Netherlands and all other restrictions are making it harder to not want a Dutch passport (or any EU passport really). We both like our jobs too much to give up and move in with the other. Sometimes life cannot wait for ten years.

On a completely different note, all humanitarian considerations aside, taxation without representation for 10years straight is robbery in daylight. One could try to justify five.
