Changing the law abruptly for people who have been living here for a few years, established their lives, bought a house, built family with the aspiration of naturalization in 5 years feels wrong.

It brings uncertainity on many levels, from planning our lives, kids, jobs and what not. Imagine being in a job on a temp contract which was supposed to become permanent in 12 months but somewhere around the 6 month period, the company tells you that the period has been extended to 24 months. Would anyone feel that it's fair? No. Nothing can justify this change. It's wrong and should be thought about again.
