The proposed doubling of the required period for citizenship will create a long-term environment of uncertainty for expatriates, which will place a serious burden on the psychological health of people like us. Furthermore, living with this stress for 10 years makes the possibility of continuing one's current job or finding a new one very low and a challenging process, thus making the chance of expats becoming citizens nearly impossible. In addition, we build a life here, and being forced to leave it all behind is truly a great sadness. We hope that the opportunity for us to live in this beautiful country will not be taken away from us.
