If implemented, this decision will have a major impact on the lives of thousands of immigrants in the Netherlands, both directly and indirectly.

As a migrant family who has lived here for the past three and a half years, we’ve done everything to contribute, serving society, learning the language, paying taxes and embracing this country as our home.

Extending the citizenship period from five to ten years will create mistrust among people. It also means immigrants will be seen as foreigners for a much longer time, which contradicts policies that claim to promote integration.
