I find it unfair to apply new rules to everyone. People who moved under the old rules should continue to be subject to the requirements they originally agreed to when moving here. Relocating to another country is a life-changing decision, one that people usually consider very carefully before making. I strongly believe that if new rules are introduced, they should apply only to newcomers, not retroactively to those who have already settled.
