I do not agree with the proposal to extend the naturalization periods.

I am a legal immigrant, I came to the Netherlands at the age of 15. I have always respected the law, I am studying two bachelor programs, working part-time, and actively learning Dutch because I want to integrate and build my future here.

It feels unfair that people who enter the country illegally, and in some cases even commit crimes, can still live and work here, while law-abiding legal immigrants like me face more obstacles in the process of naturalization.

Instead of making it harder for people who follow the rules, study, work, and genuinely want to contribute to Dutch society, the government should focus on rewarding integration, law-abiding behavior, and efforts to become part of the community.

I hope this consultation takes into account the perspective of young, motivated legal immigrants like me, who want nothing more than to live and contribute to this country.
