This is absolutely ludicrous. This law helps no one and marginalizes long term immigrants by denying them a voice in politics for longer. The criteria for citizenship can easily be made more authentic by updating the inburgering and adding obligations like community service or volunteering. This will actually help ensure that applicants are well and truly integrated into their communities. Increasing the residence requirement does absolutely nothing to help with that. It potentially even has the opposite effect by making migrants put off following up on integration processes.
