Many skilled migrants like me proudly call the Netherlands our home. We contribute significantly to Dutch businesses through our expertise, innovation, and hard work. Beyond our professional impact, we also enrich Dutch culture by bringing diversity in cuisine, traditions, and perspectives.

One of the key reasons people choose the Netherlands over other countries is its reputation for fairness, inclusivity, and respect toward those who choose to build their lives here. Personally, I feel deeply connected to this country and consider it my home.

A five-year period is already a considerable time to understand Dutch laws, culture, and social values. Extending this to ten years feels disproportionate and unfair, as it suggests that while the country continues to benefit from our contributions, our path to equal rights and belonging is being pushed further away. Such a change does not align with the Dutch principles of fairness and equality that have long defined this nation.
