I think this proposal is unfair to people already residing here with valid residence permits. It derails their plans and will force a lot of highly skilled migrants to leave the country. This should be made applicable for any new residence permits issued after this extension comes into use. This way, people coming into this country have a clear idea of what they are getting into and people with existing residence permits should be allowed to have a 5-year naturalization period.
