I think it's not a good idea to make this change for the economy in the Netherlands because would not be able to attract the best talent from all countries since immigrants will feel unwanted and like there is animosity and blame placed on them for issues like housing etc. which the data shows it is not. This bill feels like pandering to the right-wing whilst making things worse for the Dutch economy long term. Also, it feels like a betrayal for immigrants already here that moved here under the current set of laws and would not have those changed out from under them. It creates so much stress and worry for people who came here with certain rules in place and have changed so much in theirs and their family's lives so I don't think it's fair or shows empathy to change the rules for people already living here in the Netherlands. A lot of us are trying to really hard to integrate and learn the language and this law changes makes us feel unwanted and creates a lot of stress and worry for us and our families. Please reconsider this rule change and if you still persist with it, atleast make it so that it applies to people coming in the future and not people who already came here under the current set of rules because that would be fair so people don't make massive life-changing decisions based on a set of rules on expectations only for it to change and disrupt all of their long-term life plans. I totally understand that some immigrants don't integrate and commit crimes and exhibit anti social behaviour but for the ones that love Dutch life and culture and want to integrate, learn the language, behave in a civil and decent way and become a Dutch national so we belong, please consider bit applying this change to them.
