I strongly oppose this proposed extension.

Extending the naturalization period to 10 years places an unfair burden on residents who have already invested years integrating, working, and contributing to the Netherlands. Changing the rules partway through their residence creates a retroactive disadvantage, disrupting the expectations and commitments made under the previous framework. This uncertainty delays access to citizenship rights, full participation in society, and a sense of belonging—despite these residents having already demonstrated dedication and compliance with the existing requirements.
