I believe extending the naturalisation period from five to ten years would be both discouraging and unfair.
Many of us are working hard and integrating with the hope of becoming Dutch citizens after five years.
If this period is doubled, it will destroy motivation and make people feel excluded from the society they are already part of.
Ten years is an extremely long time to wait for the chance to fully belong.
