I firmly oppose the proposal to extend the naturalization period from 5 to 10 years. Such a change would unjustly postpone the full integration and equal participation of long-term residents in Dutch society. A five-year period already provides ample time to demonstrate commitment and integration. Extending it to ten years would only introduce unnecessary obstacles and foster feelings of exclusion.
