Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to express my concern regarding the proposed decision to extend the naturalisation period from 5 years to 10 years. I believe this is an undesirable development.

This change could be discouraging for people like me who study at higher education levels and work in highly skilled positions. Extending the period would seriously affect our perspective on future opportunities and integration into Dutch society and may lead to frustration and disappointment among international talent who contribute significantly to the economy and society.

I kindly urge you to reconsider this decision and maintain the current 5-year period.
