Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been living and working in the Netherlands for several years and I planned my future here based on the current rule that naturalisation is possible after 5 years. This was an important reason why I chose the Netherlands.

Raising the language requirement to B1 is fair and good for integration. But extending the period from 5 to 10 years is not fair for people like me who are already living, working, and contributing here.

If you want to change the rule, please apply it only to newcomers. They will know the conditions from the start. For people already here, the current 5-year rule should remain.

Otherwise, the Netherlands will become less attractive for international talent, which may also harm the economy and innovation.
