- Heeft u algemene op- of aanmerkingen bij het voorgestelde Besluit?
- Heeft u diersoortspecifieke op- of aanmerkingen bij het voorgestelde Besluit (kippen, melkvee, kalveren of varkens)?
Giving and receiving maternal care is a basic need. Not just for humans, but for all animals. But according to these plans, a calf can still be taken away from its mother and locked up in a cage all by itself for fourteen days. A calf gets a teat to drink from. And a chick gets a heat lamp instead of its mother. A pig must be able to root, a cow must be able to graze in the meadow and a chicken must be able to dust bathe. In this proposal, no animal is given the right to go outside. Even daylight appears to be too much to ask for for a number of animal species. A pig of 100 kilos may be locked up for life in a pen with less than one square meter of space per animal. Laying hens in cages until 2035. And a newborn calf must be left all alone in a pen for two weeks. For more than twenty years, cabinet after cabinet has promised that painful procedures on animals will come to an end. Cutting off and burning off pig tails, burning off the horns of very young calves, castrating piglets. But according to this proposal, there will be no end to castrating piglets. The burning off of the horns of calves will continue until 2040 at least. And because of all the financial and practical constraints, it is questionable whether there will really be a ban on burning off tails in 2030.This is not animal worthy. I call on you to withdraw these plans and come up with a new proposal.
