I strongly disagree with the proposed extension of the naturalization periods. This policy disproportionately affects knowledge workers, highly skilled migrants, and international entrepreneurs, who play a vital role in the growth of the Dutch economy, innovation, and long-term competitiveness.

At a time when many other countries are actively working to attract exactly these groups, extending the waiting period will make the Netherlands less attractive, discourage talent and investors, and inevitably result in a serious loss of competitiveness in technology, industry, and innovation.

In the long run, this will not only reduce the quality of life for Dutch citizens, but also cause severe and lasting harm to future generations. Instead of creating additional barriers, the process should be made more efficient and accessible to ensure the Netherlands remains a leading destination for global talent and entrepreneurship.
