Vraag 1 van 4

Why was the CXC system chosen? Why don't I get the same education as in the Netherlands?
CXC education offers a better match with secondary education in the region and with the labor market in the region. As a result, there is a greater chance of successful participation in local and regional society. With the decree that is currently being prepared, a definitive choice will be made for the English-language education and examination system of the CXC for secondary education and for vocational education at the Gwendoline van Puttenschool and the Saba Comprehensive School.

Vraag 2 van 4

Will I still get Dutch?
Yes. In addition to the CXC subjects, the school is obliged to offer every student Dutch and to conclude this with a school exam. This Dutch course is on top of the courses that are required for the relevant CXC course. However, the assessment for the Dutch course does not count for the success or failure of the CXC course.

In addition to the Dutch course, students who want to, because they want to move on to further education on Bonaire or in the European Netherlands, are also offered the course ‘in-depth Dutch’. It is up to the school to determine how they want to organize this course. The course ‘in-depth Dutch’ is concluded with an exam.

Vraag 3 van 4

Can students still transfer to further education on Bonaire or in the European Netherlands?
It is important that students are given the opportunity to follow further education in both the region and the Netherlands. That is why it is made possible for the student to continue, under certain conditions, to further education on Bonaire or in the European Netherlands.
